Tip of the Month
It’s getting to those lovely hot spikes with the August weather ahead, it is extremely important to have your pump running at the bare-minimum at 12 hours daily. On hotter days increase the pump time to 24 hours daily. This will of course increase water circulation which will help avoid stagnant water, which is one of the main causes for algae to grow. Time clocks are available in the store and can be programmed to turn on and off the pump at whatever time you please.
Changing your cartridge filters and/or backwashing your sand filter weekly is also very important to maintain the pools clear water. Just make sure for sand filters your pressure is elevated to relieve the pressure build up, also check the sight glass to make sure the sand filter is rid of all small particles.
As far as spa go, every 3 to 4 months with constant use you need to keep an eye on your stabilizer level to maintain accurate chlorine levels. If your stabilizer level, also known as cyanuric acid becomes greater than 90ppm chlorine becomes virtually ineffective. So draining the water is the only way to rid the spa of the stabilizer reading.
We offer the service to come drain, clean the interior, exterior and the cover of the spa, then refill and add start up chemicals. Give the store a call if you need help in any mentioned above or have questions about our services.. Happy summer!!
