April – Tips of the Month
Tip of the Month
Spring is finally here!! Pool openings have begun and since the snow/ice is melting, if you are worried your cover has too much water & weight on it, drain some or all of it off. You can do this by using a simple hose and creating a syphon, or come into the store & purchase a cover pump! This will help preventing damage to the pool. If you notice any signs of bunching on the sides or caving starting to happen carefully cut the cable and allow the cover to go into the pool. This will be easier and less expensive to deal with, rather than replacing a wall or your entire pool!
As opening season begins, we would like to remind everyone that after your pool is opened, wait 24-48 hours before bringing us a water sample. These pools have been winterized and sitting stagnant for months so we want to give them the opportunity to fully circulate prior to adding chemicals. After receiving your “test results” from your water sample, be sure to ask a sales associate about the benefits of Pool Perfect Spring & Fall!
Want to get rid of some dead weight? Now is also a good time to purchase a replacement spa cover! If needed, please stop in to the shop and pick out the style & new color for your new cover. Orders are taking typically 30 business days! We also do offer the service of delivering, installing the new one and disposing of your old cover.
If your spa has been open year round, over the next couple of weeks will be a good time to drain, clean & refill your spa. Why you want to do this is because the chlorine concentrate used, has almost like a conditioner in it that inhibits the chlorine from being burned off / gassed off from the tub itself. Once you keep adding chlorine, the CYA or stabilizer level raises. Once the level is at its peak, typically over 100ppm, it is a sure tale sign to drain the spa & start over.
