July – Tip of the Month

Hoping everyone had a fun & safe 4th of July!

Now that summer has made its arrival, hot spikes & rainfall are bound to happen. Make sure you stay on top of adding tablets as well as shocking the pool when it is extremely hot out. Chlorine can gas/bake off the pool by extreme sun, warmer water temperature and pool usage. Test strips are a quick and convenient way to ensure chlorine is at proper levels. Shocking the pool is important especially after parties. Scumsocks are a netted product to also help keep the pool filter clean of small debris that the skimmer misses. Skimming the pool regularly is also important to keep the pool looking crystal clear, as well as cleaning the skimmer and pump baskets. 

For spas, keep chemicals dry and out of extreme heat to keep potency. Storing them in the garage or an outdoor plastic storage bin is a good idea. Since it is warm out now, some customers choose to use their spa during the cooler nights, so the pH can fluctuate during non-usage of the spa.
