During opening season, it is o.k to use liquid chlorine to infiltrate the pool’s cold water, to start killing and sanitizing the microorganisms that are in the water. After opening switch back to your normal regimen, load tablets into your chlorinator or floater and shock weekly with the proper amount of granular chlorine per your pool size/gallons. If you have a salt pool make sure to test levels to determine if you need to add any salt to be in proper range for your cell.
