Tip of the Month
Keep your filters & spas clean!
Bacteria thrives in a hot, wet environment. There are numerous locations that aren’t exposed to sanitized water that can be the first location bacteria grow. Cleaning the underside of spa covers and pillows, as well as the spa shell from the water line up, should be done weekly to prevent odor and bacteria growth. Also, cleaning the plumbing is easy, affordable and very important. Almost every hot tub has a diverter valve (or multiple valves) that adjust jet flow by blocking/unblocking plumbing lines to increase/decrease pressure. This also causes water to get trapped in plumbing lines and go untreated. The longer this water is trapped, the more likely biofilm, water mold, bacteria, pink slime, etc., can start to develop. So here are a couple of items to help clean & maintain your spa.
